L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Review

I have always been one to take care of my hair and I am regularly being told to stop buying shampoos and conditioners, as we have a bathroom full of them. I have coloured my hair for a long time now so I do tend to suffer with dry ends, even after a nice trim. However I have never been able to last more than a couple of days without my hair looking like a complete greasy mess, even with trying to wash it less. So when I discovered L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Pre Treatment, Shampoo and Conditioner, I had to buy it.

I brought the Pre-Shampoo Clay Masque, the clay rebalancing shampoo and the clay re-balancing conditioner. They are made up of 3 refined clays to help rebalance the natural oils in the hair, giving you purified roots and hydrated ends for up to 72 hours.

I have never used a Pre-Shampoo treatment before so it was all very new to me, all I had to do was apply it to my roots and leave it on for 5 minutes, giving it a chance to absorb excess oils and impurities. This was easier said than done as I didn't want to get it on my ends and risk making they even drier, so it does help if you can get someone to give you a helping hand to put your hair into sections making to easier to apply. After 5 minutes, I washed it out and found it was actually pretty easy to wash out, which I wasn't expecting it to be as it is a clay.

I then continued to wash my hair as I usually would with the L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Shampoo and Conditioner, the only tip I would give you would be use less of the shampoo than you normally would as I found it was quite thick and took a lot of washing out.

All in all I really like this shampoo and conditioner, I haven't been using the Pre treatment every time that I wash my hair but I have been using it every now and again and I do think it makes a difference to how often I have had to wash my hair, I will definitely purchase it again.

Have you tried any new shampoos recently? Or do you swear by any hair treatments?

Thank you For Reading!

Lots of Love

  1. That looks amazing! Sounds too good to be true! I'm not sure if we have those here in the States but I'll keep an eye out!

  2. I've been looking at this but I have quite fine hair but lots of it. My hair does seem to be getting greasier at the minute but I don't know if it would be too thick and heavy for my hair. What type of hair do you have?

  3. My hair is pretty thick and I have quite alot of it too. You could maybe buy either just the shampoo and conditioner or just the pre treatment and see how you get on with that and then if you feel like you like the product get the others. I don't know if it still is but it was on offer in Superdrug and all half price I think it was. Might be worth a little look! :) Let me know if you try it, how you get on! :) x

  4. I really like using it, I'm not saying I can go days and days but usually I feel like by the evening of the day after I have washed my hair the next morning, I will need to do it again, but now I would say I get an extra day or so! :) x
