It was my birthday on Saturday...so I am now another year older! To celebrate, myself, my mum, a family friend and my friend Georgie decide to head to London for afternoon tea on Wednesday! I searched for ages online trying to find a nice place to go that we didn't have to spend the earth at, and in the end, I found bb bakery in Convent Garden. It was so lovely, I liked it because it was bright and airy and had a really nice, pretty, girly feel to it.
We headed on the train to London Waterloo at around 10.30am as we had a table booked for 12.30pm. From where we live it is only about 40 minutes on the train. (I always forget how close London actually is to us). Once we had got there we decided as the weather was so lovely we would walk to bb bakery instead of taking the underground.
How gorgeous is the merry go around I was dying to go on it, I really wished I had Mia with me as an excuse! :) After a short 10-minute walk we found the bakery! It was so beautifully decorated! I was completely shocked by how stunning the cakes were on the counter! We were seated in a window seat at a cute little table, it was really nice to be able to see everything that was going on around you, (especially when you're as nosey as me!).
Just after we were seated, the lady serving us, who was really friendly and helpful I have to add, brought us over the Drink's menu and took our tea order, as well as bringing us all out a lovely ice cold, freshly squeezed orange juice. When she served our tea's they were all in really cute miss matched cups and saucers and teapots. Then she brought over our afternoon tea, piled high with two of each thing on both afternoon tea stands, on mine was a little tiny cupcake with a candle in, which I thought was really lovely! On the stand was toasted sandwiches, quiche, rolls, pies, cakes, macaroons (the best chocolate macaroons, I have ever tasted I must add.), you name it I think we had it! :)
After a fair time of filling ourselves with sandwiches and cake then came scones with clotted cream and jam! Oh yes.....YUMMMMMYY! It is safe to say by the time we had finished these we were all very full and in need of a wonder around convent garden markets and some shops.
It is safe to say I had an amazing day out in London for my birthday and I would highly recommend BB Bakery, but I would say to book in advance! Have you been to BB Bakery before?
Thank you for reading!
Lots of Love
