Surprise Guest Post ✿ 5 Things I Do Everyday!

Hi Everyone! Chrissy is being kind enough to let me borrow her internet space today and I’m going to tell you 5 things I do everyday without fail! Despite the obvious of eating, brushing our teeth and sleeping, I think it’s interesting to see what people do voluntarily everyday. I think it can show quite a bit about yourself! So here are mine!

1. Write.
Yep, I write everyday. Occupational hazard of being a Creative Writing student, want-to-be writer and a blogger. I write stories, I write notes, I write blog posts, I write observations. I just love writing and probably average anywhere from 200-1000 words a day. This steps itself up in November when National Novel Writing Month comes around but without any pressure or obligation, I just love writing.

2. Stretch.
Have you ever noticed that when a cat gets up from sitting that it stretches? I talk about this a lot with my trainer at the gym but humans tend not to stretch enough for their own good! Increased circulation, flexibility, stress reducing and a remedy for the back pain I get from all the sitting about typing? Stretching is amazing.

3. Talk to my friends.
For an introvert, I’m surprisingly social. Maybe not in the classic face-to-face time way but I don’t think I’ve gone a day in the past 5 years without talking to a few of my friends everyday. Be it Skype, DM’s on Twitter, Facebook messenger, I think it’s important to make an effort to keep in contact with the people you care about.

4. Read.
A direct result from my new wish to read more, I sit down to read everyday. Even if it’s just 5 minutes, which can very easily become 5 hours with the right book, I think reading paper rather than screens is so calming. And as JK Rowling said;
“Read as much as you can. Nothing will help you as much as reading.”

5. Something Future! Imogen will be glad I did.
This is probably the most important and hardest of the five if I’m honest, I like to do something today that me in the future - be it tomorrow or a year from now, will look back and be glad it was done. It can be something small like scheduling tweets or something big like making an important phone call you’ve been avoiding. Either way, everyday I try.

So, what are some things you do everyday?

Mia's Birthday!

Hello Lovelys,
How has your week been? What did you think about Tuesdays Post!?
As you know Monday was Mia's Birthday! It was such a nice day, of course she wasn't overly bothered and didn't really know what was going on! I had fun though! :D
The BBQ on the Saturday went really well, we had the perfect weather, it was so sunny and dry all day. It was so nice to have all of our family together, chatting and having fun together. :)
Mia was completely spoilt and got some amazing presents!
I ended up making a bunny birthday cake, but it didn't turn out how I wanted it to at all. I didn't have the right sweets and things to get it to look right. I used coconut all over to give the fluffy look like a bunny. It is meant to be like the bunny has his head down a hole in the ground. lol! I wanted to do grass all over the bottom but I just didn't have time, I think it would of looked much better if I had done. Oh well, everyone said it tasted good! :)
On the Monday, which was her actually birthday, we had the morning with Mia. I set up her presents the night before and part of her present was a pop up tent which is huge, I put battery operated fairy lights in it at the top! She loved it when she came down and saw it! I want to try and use it as like a reading corner or something. I still can't gather out of it!
At around 12pm I had invited Mia's friends from baby group over and just had a little get together and the babies played. I sorted out some picnic food, cakes, and crisps and little snacks for everyone to have. I did have some photos for you but I managed to mess up the camera and they only came out in black and white! Don't ask! lol! Once again Mia was really spoilt by everyone she is one very lucky girl! After everyone left at around 2.30pm Mia was so tired she crashed out for a far few hours!
We had such a brilliant day, I enjoyed every moment of it with my gorgeous little girl!

Planning a 1st Birthday Bash!

Hello My Lovelys!

As you all know I am a mummy to a very gorgeous little girl called Mia. I never believed what people told me when they said time would fly by as Mia grow up, but oh my has time flown past. Mia is going to be a year old in just a few days time! This is so scary, I can't believe how much she has changed and grown up.

I thought I would share with you how I went about planning Mia's Birthday Party. I spent a lot of time on my trusty Pinterest Page for this.
We had decided that we would have a bbq on the Saturday before her birthday, as between myself and her Dad we have a lot of family. I am still hoping tomorrow is going to be dry, because we have a lot of people in the garden! :)
So that is the some of the most important things:
1. What you want to do?
2. What date to do it on?
3. Where you will hold it?
I really wanted to do some pretty invitations, I looked everywhere, in shops, online but I couldn't really find the kind of thing I had in my head that I wanted. So eventually, I headed to Vista Print! I used one of the designs they already had and added a picture of Mia to it. What do you think?
You need to make sure on the invitation you include
1. The Date.
2. The Location/Address.
3. What the occasion is.
4. The Time.
5. A contact number.

Then a very important thing to do is to actually send all the invitation out! :) What I did was write a list of everyone I wanted to invite and then tick them off the list as they replied!
Next I went out getting lots of decorations, however once I put them altogether I realised that most of them didn't actually match at all! However I thought oh well it for Mia not everyone else. :D
See what I mean!? Lol!

I then started on deciding what kinda of food we wanted, this ended in the other evening myself and my Dad heading off to Costco and spending a fair amount of money on different meats and foods! We came out with a very full trolley at the end of it! Lol!

Now even though it isn't Mia's Birthday until the Monday I have got to do a cake for her on the Saturday as well, not only that it will do for Pudding! I spent a really long time on Pinterest trying to decide what I could do, and I came up with a couple of ideas, either a hedgehog cake or a bunny rabbit cake! Sorry but you will have to wait until next week to find out what I decided on as I can't have it made before finishing this post! :)

So that is the basics of how I planned Mia's birthday, I didn't want to go on into loads of details and bore you all! I will do you a little post on how it went and things! :)

Thank you for reading!

Super Smashing Cake Smash!

Hello Lovelys,
How are you? Did you have a good weekend?
This month is Mia's 1st Birthday, I really can not believe how fast its coming round! She's almost walking already and just turning into such a great little character! I love her to pieces! I couldn't wait for her birthday to come round as I have been dying to do a cake smash with her! :)
I was really luck that my mum had a friend at work who is a photographer and she really wanted to come and take pictures of Mia's cake smash! Her name is Annie and she does some really great work, have a look at her site. I will link it below!
I thought I would do a post for you showing you how I made Mia's smash cake and then show you a couple of the photos that Annie took.
This is really unlike me but I didn't make the cake from scratch this time! I know how awful of me! :)  The only reason for this is because I knew that this particular make of cake was really really soft sponge which come apart really easily. I used a Betty Crocker Super Moist White Cake Mix, I got this in the American food section at a local garden centre but you could pick it up online. I love that it is also a white cake...like really white, so if you wanted to colour the cake it would be perfect.

All you need to make this is:
The Pack,
 1 1/4 cups of water,
1/3 cup of Vegetable Oil
3 Egg Whites.

Once mixing it altogether, I put it in to a small round cake tin, which I had greased with butter, and put into a pre heated oven at 180c for an hour.
I decided I was going to use whipped cream to decorate it, as it isn't full of sugar and it is much healthier for young toddlers. All I did was whip the cream until it was think and then I added a tiny bit of red food colouring to make it pink! :)
After completely covering the cake in the pink whipped cream I covered every single patch I could in coloured sprinkles! :) I ended up with sprinkles everywhere suck to my feet all over the sides! It was a mess! lol! Then I added a glittery number one to the top! :)
I had to keep it in the fridge until just before we wanted to use it though was the whipped cream would just melt and slide off!
What do you think of my handy work?
Mia had so much fun doing this but she really wasn't that impressed about touching the cake, which had us in stitches as usually she would mash it up until there was nothing left! Typical! :) I have posted some of the gorgeous pictures that Annie took of Mia below!

These are just a few of the lovely pictures Annie took of Mia, do have a look on her website!

Jolly July Favourites!

Hello Lovelys,
How has your week been? What have you been doing? So that time has swung round again for my monthly favourites. Can you believe how quickly this year is going by!? I can't believe it is August already, before we know it, it will be Christmas! Sorry for saying the C word! :)
Most of my favourites this month are make up and beauty products, I think its just because lately I have been trying to re fresh my make up bag a bit.
Collection Extreme 24hr Felt Tip Liner - I haven't even considered picking up a liquid eye liner since I was about 15 years old! I made such a mess then, that I just completely blanked it out! It wasn't until I went out with the girls for dinner and I was getting ready with Beth I thought I would try it again. Beth had a liquid eye liner marker pen, so I tried it! Omg, I loved it, it was so easy to use and I didn't get it everywhere! (I don't know if this is because I'm no longer 15 and have done Beauty Therapy or if this is just an amazing invention!) I went out the same week and purchased my own! You really should give this ago, I didn't want to splash out on one the higher end hughstreet brands to start with. I managed to pick this up for £2.99 in Superdrug.
Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - If you usually read my blog you would of seen this on my recent skin products haul. I have to say I really like this, it defiantly lives up to all of the hype for me. It removes my make with ease and doesn't leave any kind of greasy residue on my skin afterwards. The only thing that I found is it took quite a bit to removed heavy mascara but it did still removed it eventually.
Revlon Colourburst Honey Douce 001- I love the natural lip look, but I have quite pinky, red lips naturally so if I buy the "neutral" colours usually they make me look ill, because they are so light. I was looking for something simple and came across this and it was perfect in colour for me it have my lips a tiny tone of colour but it was almost a match to my natural lip colour. I have found that it lasts so well too and doesn't dry my lips out. As you can see it is a really matte colour as well.
Urban Fudge Salt Spray - I hadn't used salt spray before using this but it smells gorgeous! I would say it only a product I would use when I knew I wanted to wash my hair the next day but not on freshly washed clean hair. It gives a lovely texture to my hair and properly even more so if I had more layers in my hair.
Note book - I got this for my birthday from Mia, I love it. It is so pretty and has a cool flip over front and I have been using it to plan all my blog posts and make notes in. I have used it so much already that I had to feature it in this month favourites!

What are you favourites this month? What one product do you use everyday?
Thank you for reading!

25th on the 25th!

Good Evening Lovely's, If you read my last blog then you would know that last week was my birthday, I was the good old age of 25! I was spoilt rotten by my friends and family. I went out a few times for dinner and lunch with family or friends and was given some lovely gifts. I thought I would tell you a bit about my evening out with the girls, on the Thursday before my birthday!

We went to an Italian call El Costella in a village called Odiham not far from where I live. There was four of us, myself, and my three friends, Keri, Vicki & Beth.
The food was lovely here is what we all had:

As usual I had to be the odd one out and have a starter, I have a real love for mushroom at the moment so I couldn't say no to this.
Funghi - Fresh button mushrooms, cooked in gorgonzola cheese, garlic, parmesan and white wine sauce.
For Vicki's Main She had Pollo Positano - Egg-ribbon pasta with chicken, white wine, garlic, asparagus, mushrooms and cream.
For My main I had Penne Napoli - Tube pasta with sliced beef fillet, onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomato sauce, topped with parmesan.
For Beth's main she has Risotto E Pollo - Italian rice, cooked with fresh chicken, mushrooms, green peppers, garlic, cream and white wine.
Keri went for Ravioli - Spinach and ricotta ravioli with butternut squash, garlic, white wine, butter, crumbled goats cheese and fresh rocket.

Of course we all decided that we had to had a dessert but who can say no to a gorgeous pudding just to finish off your meal!
Myself, Beth and Vicki all had the same thing, Homemade Crepe - A homemade pancake, filled with vanilla ice cream, toasted almonds, topped with homemade toffee sauce. Yummy!

Keri went for this gorgeous Homemade Banoffee Pie -Biscuit base trifle with fresh bananas, toffee and vanilla flavoured cream.

I had so much fun this evening, we laughed, giggled, joked and just had a great time! I would highly recommend you trying this restaurant out if you are near by.
What do you like to do for your birthday?

Thank you for reading!

Lots of Love
